Since Naib went missing, the accused allegedly planned to occupy the land. After waiting for a few years after Naib went missing they tried take possession of the land but the adopted son intervened and the matter was dragged to court over the division of land, the case regarding which was still going on.
Around six months ago, the accused came up with a plan and prepared fake death certificate of Naib Singh and submitted it in the court. They never informed Sukhjinder about this. They even got prepared fake documents and sold the land to someone for around Rs 2 crore, lower than its market price.
Sukhjinder, who was not aware about anything, went to court for appearance in the abovesaid case and was shocked to learn about the fake death certificate of Naib Singh, who was still missing, being submitted in court and the land being sold below the market price. Sukhjinder accompanied by his lawyer got a copy of the fake death certificate and found that the certificate had been prepared by a stationery owner. Sukhjinder prepared an application and submitted it to the police for further investigation in the matter in June.
The cops verified all aspects with regard to the application of Sukhjinder. The cops also came to know that Naib was working at Patiala central jail and as per records was still missing and a missing person can’t be declared dead without the authority of the law. The duo had also cheated the court of law by submitting a fake death certificate for personal gains.
